Where Artists Gather - And Art Breaks

Is there any room in this world of ours for a boring old fart like me who paints realism?

I get more positive feedback on my realistic paintings than on the more obtuse ones, which I prefer to do. That's the way of it in the general population but painting is fun, either way.
Realism remains stronger than you may think. Everytime there is great insecurity on the planet (like now), people need a feeling that mlan still exists - that he has not been killed in all the wars, not replaced by computers and robots, etc. But attention: one thing - not to confuse with commercial art.. Art is art; and commerical art is not fine art, but commercial art, ie. to sell products. Nuance.

If you sell your art is that not commercialism?

Or,sometimes, commissioned realistic vwork...which is its own challenge. When an artist is working in
abstract, it is still important to "maintain the basics"....Like an architect using hammer and nails once and in a while.

Of course there is David, you can come and live in my coalhouse,
Have fun.
